This Black Panther cosplay is befitting of Wakandan royalty

T’Challa himself would beam with pride at the hard work, detail and ingenuity that went into this Black Panther costume by renowned cosplayer CutiePieSensei. Her rendition of Shuri in the Black Panther garb is comic book accurate and then some, as the princess has had to take on the esteemed mantle of the protector of Wakanda on more than one occasion in titles such as Black Panther (2009), Doomwar (2010) and Klaws of the Panther (2010).

CutiePieSensei’s Shuri Black Panther costume leans more heavily towards the Vibranium suit appearance of the Black Panther films rather than the comics, with the Vibranium-weave look of the Panther Habit exhibiting a lightweight, but highly resistant pattern.

I’m tired.⠀ ⠀ Tired of having to explain why and how certain things are racist. Tired of having to validate my sheer existence as a black woman to other people. Tired of getting comments from people straight up saying that “there is no proof that America is a racist country”. Tired of people being more upset and vocal about property damage than the murders of innocent black people. None of these instances in the past couple of months are anything new. It’s been happening and continues to happen. I want other people to see that we matter too. And if me reminding you of that makes you uncomfortable, then you need to step on out. No need to write a diatribe about how disappointed you are, no need to go on and on about how all lives matter, not black lives. I do not give a single fuck. Sorry. I’ll ban you and keep it pushing. Your singular number value that you add to a follower count is not worth me having someone around that only wants to fetishize me, and not actually care about issues that seriously affect me. In the Black Panther comics and film, Shuri is the daughter of T’Chaka and sister of T’Challa, the latter being the current Black Panther.

Vibranium is currently the strongest metal in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (remember, the X-Men, especially a certain, adamantium-clawed one haven’t made their official introduction into the MCU yet).
